Mrs. Joan Alexander Standridge, age 72 of Crawford Road, Martin passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A daughter of the late Hershel Alexander and Dora Belle Clark Alexander, she was born July 1, 1951 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her in Stephens County. She was retired from Gem Southeast as a machine operator. She served as secretary for her church, Living Hope Worship Center where she was a member. She loved word searches, loved her church family and friends and especially loved talking with her sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Standridge in 2011 and by a grandson, Wesley Kyle Teate in 2015.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, John Standridge of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Sara Lowery of Martin and Rebecca and Steven Gilmer of Toccoa; granddaughter, Jessica Lowery of Martin; sisters, Mary Faye Crane of Eastanollee and Wilma Vinson of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 8, 2024, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ted Armour and The Reverend Tim Griffin officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ted Armour, Jake Collins, Hubert Standridge, David King, Bryan King, Dean Hill and Seth Devault.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Unity Baptist Church, Westminster, South Carolina with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Joan Alexander Standridge.
