Mrs. Edna Ruth Taylor Shirley, age 97 of Pine Street, Toccoa passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Willie Taylor, Sr. and Fannie Mae McConnell Taylor, she was born July 10, 1926 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was retired from Coats and Clark with 46 years of service. She was a member of The Pointe Church and attended Highpoint Community Church. She enjoyed word search with different books of the Bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Shirley, two sons, Tommy Shirley and Michael Shirley, four brothers, Grady Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Andrew Taylor and Willie Taylor, Jr. and by a sister, Dorothy Taylor.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeraldine Spoor of Cornelia, Georgia; grandchildren, Juanita Shiley, Sherry Bravo, Michele Bravo, Janice Shirley and Kim Thurmond; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny and Sarah Taylor of Martin and Edward Taylor (Jenna Charles) of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Jeane Long of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Mr. Kevin Taylor and Pastor Warren Lewis officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kevin Taylor, Brian Taylor, Blake Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Dakota Shirley and Teran Owens.

Interment will follow in the Martin Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Edna Ruth Taylor Shirley.
