Sherman Allen Gilleland

Mr. Sherman Allen Gilleland, 73, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Johnathan Jackson, Chief Jerry Smith, Mr. Chad Black and Mr. Jerry Palmer will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Born on September 25, 1950 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Elmer and Lucille Waller Gilleland. He was retired from the Hall County Fire Department after 30 years of service and of the Baptist faith. Sherman was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Gilleland is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Gilleland of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Corey and Ashley Gilleland of Gainesville; two grandchildren; sister, Gina Eten of Clermont; brother and sister in law, Wayne and Dianne Gilleland of McDonough, GA and a number of other loving relatives.
