Rosetta Dyer

Rosetta Dyer passed away at the age of 106 on Saturday, December 24, 2023.

She was a lifelong residence of Hall County, Chicopee, Gainesville, GA. She graduated from Riverbend High School. Mrs. Dyer was the wife of Fletcher Nelson Dyer and daughter of George and Vyanna Tarpley. She worked at Owen Osborn Hosiery Mill, Chicopee Manufacturing Company and W.T. Grants Department Store. After she retired, she worked at Happy Pappy’s Restaurant and was a substitute teacher. She was a special homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosetta and her husband Fletcher were very active longtime members of Chicopee Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Gaines (Terrell Gaines), Nancy Dyer Smith (Ed Smith); grandchildren, Kerith Gaines Smith (Jeff Smith), Chris Jones (Shannon Jones) and five great-grandchildren, Hannah Jones, Grace Anne Jones, Abby Jones, Jessica Smith and Faith Jones.  She is also survived by two sisters in law, and several nieces, nephews and a special caregiver Sagrario “Chayo” Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randall Fletcher Dyer; four sisters and two brothers.

The family wishes to thank Ashton Senior Living and Hospice for their loving care of Rosetta.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Carpenter and Rev. Doug Collins will officiate. Brent Cochran will provide the music. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m.
