Betty Jean Haralson

Our beloved Mother, Betty Jean Haralson, passed peacefully in the early evening hours of December 19, 2023.

Betty was born to Gustavo and Lena Valeri on September 11, 1930, the second of 4 children (Gus Jr., Antonio and JoAnne), all growing up in LaGrange, Georgia.  Betty graduated from LaGrange High School and spent 2 years at LaGrange College before marrying James B. Haralson, Sr. on September 14, 1950.  They spent 70 happily married years before he predeceased her in 2021.

Betty is predeceased by her husband and two children, Terry and Kathy Haralson.  She is Survived by her son, James B. Haralson, Jr. and his wife Patty Haralson of Lilburn, Georgia and her daughter Valeri Browne and her husband Aaron Browne of Lawrenceville, Georgia. In addition, she is survived by two beautiful grandchildren, Ashley Shammas with her husband Alex Shammas of Buford, Georgia and Kimberly Bryson with her husband Dustin Bryson of Covington, Georgia. She is further survived by 5 wonderful great grandchildren, Sydney and Sophia Shammas and Colin, Blake and Makayla Bryson.

She was a young Military wife, a member of the Civic Club, the Garden Club and the Jaycees.   She always focused on raising her family and supporting her husband in his endeavors.  Her legacy is her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her family and dear friends.  She will be greatly missed.
