Homer Dwight Howington

Mr. Homer Dwight Howington, 76, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Robin Dyer will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Born April 4, 1947 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Ernest and Janie Ogle Howington. He was employed with Whitehead Die Casting where he was Supervisor.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howington was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edwards Howington; brothers, Wayne Howington, James Howington, Glenn Howington and sister, Mildred Phillips.

Mr. Howington is survived by his sons and daughter in law, Larry and Cristy Howington of Gainesville, Preston Howington of Gainesville; sisters, Phyllis Woods of Jefferson, Colleen Williamson of Murrayville, Regina Presley of Gainesville; brother, Richard Howington of Murrayville; grandchildren, Corey Howington, Brittany Reed, Hannah Howington, Cody Andrews, Taylor Talley, McKenzie Andrews, Chelby Howington; a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
