Forest James Gay was born on September 20, 1936, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Gay, Sr. (Flossie) in McDonough, GA. He departed this life on November 1, 2023. He attended Henry County Schools and retired in October 1994 from the City of Atlanta Sewer Department after serving over 30 years of dedicated service.
Forest dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was married to Willie Kate Ross and was the father of three children. He was predeceased by his wife, known as, Kate in August 2005.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a son: Cepeda Gay, two daughters: Janice Ruffin and Mr. and Mrs. Alverto Cloud (Cynthia) Grandchildren: Amanda Thomas, Desmond Bell, Amber Gay, Cepea’ Burton, Justin Ruffin, Caitlin Landers (Chris), CaDarius, Cornelius, CaXavier and Cordele Gay, Cyira Frank, Tia, Josiah, and Taryn Thomas, Aiden and CaXavier Flanagan, Great Grandchildren: Mikala Gay and Cairo Burton, two brothers: Howard and Marvin Gay, two sisters: Mildred Watkins and Mr. & Mrs. William German (Betty), brother-in-law: Ernest Hill, sisters-in-law: Endell Woods, LuAnne Barlow and Mr. & Mrs. Carlton Harp (Wanda Denise), devoted neighbors: Linda, Essie, and Brenda and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
