Jullian Forrest Armstrong. Sr.

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Julian Forrest Armstrong, Sr., age 84 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Monday, December 18, 2023.  Mr. Armstrong was born in Rome, Georgia a son of the late Lewis Vollie Armstrong and the late Dorothy Josephine Tant Armstrong.  Mr. Armstrong was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with McDougal – Warren Construction Company.Mr. Armstrong was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and was known throughout the area for being such a giving person.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Armstrong is preceded by a son, Egbert Daniel Armstrong, brothers; John Lewis Armstrong, James David Armstrong, and step father James Scarborough.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret Louise Cates Armstrong of Jefferson.  Son, Julian Forrest Armstrong, Jr. (Brenda), of Cleveland.  Daughter, Laurie Ann Decker (Joe) of Winder and son, James Allen Armstrong (Lynda) of Commerce.  Sisters, Lottie Mae Webb of Stockbridge, Donna Linda Armstrong of Dallas, Eunice Faye Pickens of Tucker, Mary Elizabeth Howell of Kennesaw.  Brothers, Donnie Kenneth Armstrong of Oxford, and Johnnie Milton Armstrong of winder.  Four grandchildren, Rosie Marie Armstrong, Christina Renee Armstrong, Julian Forrest Armstrong III, Danielle Nicole Decker, Caroline Hawkins and Emily Hawkins.

A celebration of Mr. Armstrong’s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2023 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Thrasher officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends 11:00 A.M.  to 2:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home prior to the service.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Lee Cates, Keith Whitley, Jason Rutledge, Joey Smith, Favio Fortola,  and Julian Forrest Armstrong III.
