Paul G. Clark

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 14, 2023

It is with great sorrow that the family of Paul G. Clark announce that he died peacefully at his home on December 14th, 2023. A beloved husband, loving father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, neighbor, friend and acquaintance to many in the community, Paul is survived by his beloved wife LaTrelle Clark of 43 years, son Neil Clark, Daughter-in-law Chelsea Clark, granddaughters, Cora Clark and Daisy Clark and grandson, Colin Clark and aunt Kathleen Lamont, nephew Phillip Pixley and niece Kimberly Pixley of Canada, extended family and many friends.   He is predeceased by his parents Noel and Daisy Clark, sister, Judith Pixley, brother-in-law Michael Pixley and uncle, Keith Clark.

Paul was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in 1943. As a youth and young man, he enjoyed the ocean, spear fishing, snorkeling and the beautiful sunshine. Paul enjoyed late night long walks on the moonlit white beaches with his best friend.  Paul also loved animals, especially the ones his family raised, including cows, chickens, ducks and racing his dad’s homing pigeons back to the house. Paul loved the many lush fruits and crops his father grew.  After high school, Paul attended Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. He returned home to Jamaica after two years and began working with his uncle Keith and father Noel in their successful office Supply Business eventually buying the business and expanding it into an office furniture restoration and chair manufacturing company. Paul and his family left Jamaica in the mid-1970s as the rise of socialism sparked crime and violence. Eventually he settled in Clearwater, Florida where he would meet his wife LaTrelle Clark. They were married in the spring of 1980. In 1982 they moved to his wife’s hometown of Gainesville, Georgia. That same year they welcomed their son Neil Clark into the family and opened and founded the first Party Supply Store in the area. The store remains open to this day as Party Shop Emporium where Paul established many lifelong friendships and acquaintances. He worked with his wife and son for the last 15 years.

Paul was a parishioner of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gainesville, GA since 1981. He was a devoted Christian and created many lifelong friendships through his faith. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul enjoyed reading, playing sports, jazz, bird watching, movies, being outside and hiking. He loved his family and especially loved being with his three grandchildren.

Funeral Mass and Life Celebration will be on December 28th at 11:00AM St. Michael Catholic Church.
