Connie Rachel Green

Connie Rachel Green was born on May 15,1956 in Gainesville, GA. She departed this earth on December 14, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents JW and Gwendolyn Turner, paternal grandparents Marcus and Estelle Turner, and maternal grandparents LJ and Camilla McCann.
She graduated from Johnson High School in 1974 and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. She traveled and lived in various states including Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Florida before finally settling back in her hometown of Gainesville GA. Connie enjoyed cooking (THE BEST potato salad and fried chicken), cleaning, dancing, running, knitting, watching wrestling and scary movies, loving on her Georgia Bulldogs, and last but not least - PARTYING!!!!!!
Connie was a caring individual with a big heart who always put others before herself. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; especially her siblings who she shared such an unbreakable bond. Connie had a broad smile, beautiful dimples, and contagious laugh that could never go unnoticed. She was a lover of many animals, especially her beloved cat, RuRu.
Connie was a true nurturer of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. They shared countless, unforgettable, and exciting moments that will be cherished forever. She also extended her love for children as she worked with the JWGwen Learning Academy during the pandemic to help kids to catch up with their work and housekeeping abilities.
Connie is survived by her sons Jaquice Robertson (Macon GA), Ashley Turner (Eatonton GA), and Swan Turner (Gainesville GA). Grandchildren Jeremiah Turner, Tra'Varian Standifer, Jacee Dukes, and Paisley McCray. Siblings Beverly (Lateef) Hamin (Gainesville GA), Gregory Turner (Gainesville GA), Sharon Alexis (St Marys GA), Yvonne (Elcano) Broadwater (Lula GA), and Marshal (Osbert) Teekasingh. Nieces and Nephews Shalia Campbell, Shamone Evans, Sharif Alexis, Skye Alexis, Tamara Turner, and Manaje Teekasingh. Great niece and nephews Triston Cantrell, Reylon Meadows, Deonte Evans, Tristan Prather, Makhi Harrison, Amir Alexis, Ky’Rihanna Evans, Parker Evans, and great great niece Reagenn Meadows. Special bonus son Stephen Glenn, Closest friend Dr. Lolita Chappel-Aiken.
In closing Connie was never afraid of any choices. She always moved with purpose, facing all challenges headfirst.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19th at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8. Mrs. Green's Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 20th at Hillside Chapel at the hour of 1pm. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
