Cidelia "Dee" Pierce Head, 95 of Gainesville died Wednesday December 13, 2023.
A longtime resident of Gainesville, Georgia, Mrs. Head was the daughter of the late George B. and Margie Duckett Pierce. She had worked at Sears for a number of years, and she also was a homemaker. Dee and her husband Jim were longtime and very active members of Gainesville First United Methodist Church. She worked tirelessly with Gainesville's Homeless Community, Good News at Noon and LAMP Ministry, she also served as a board member of the Salvation Army.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Glenda Pierce, 2 nephews, 7 nieces, grand-daughter, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Special friends, Jane Brown, Rev. Ruben and Mary Mauricio, and her loving dog Yo-Yo, whose cremated remains will be buried with her.
Mrs. Head is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James L. Head, Jr., son, James Michael Head, 4 sisters, Mary Nell King, Claudine Gilstrap, Willie Mae Brownlow, and Betty Black, 3 brothers, Rev. Jack Pierce, Bill Pierce and Rueben Pierce, 5 nephews and 3 nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Jamey Prickett and Rev. Ruben Muricio will officiate. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
