Michael Darin Greenway

Mr. Michael Darin Greenway, 58, of Homer, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born on August 30, 1965 in Atlanta, GA, Michael was then a lifelong resident of Banks County. He was the son of Barbara Oliver Triplett and the late Homer Dana (Chuck) Greenway, Jr. Michael was a 1983 graduate of Banks County High School.  As a teenager, Michael worked in the meat department of his grandfather’s grocery store, Greenway’s Grocery. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving three years as a Paratrooper. He retired as a supervisor from ZF Transmission with 30 years of service as a machinist. He attended Lanier Technical College where he studied to be a machinist.  He was a member of Air Line Baptist Church where he was baptized. Michael enjoyed hand-carving wooden staffs, playing the guitar, riding his Harley-Davidson and fishing. Michael was always cracking jokes and had a unique sense of humor. 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Homer Dana (Chuck) Greenway, Jr., and his grandparents, Homer Dana Greenway, Sr. and Ruby Wall Greenway.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Hannah Jeannine Greenway of Murrayville; sisters and brothers in law, Kimberly Greenway Fauscett (Anthony) of Murrayville, Lorraine Greenway Adams (John) of Alamo, GA; mom, Barbara Oliver Triplett of Snellville, GA; nephew, Eric Waters (Cynthia); nieces, Elizabeth Woodfin (Kent), Victoria Adams; nephew, Jay Adams; niece, Annmarie Adams; aunts, Carolyn Cape of Gainesville, Rita Shockley of Gainesville and a number of cousins and other loving relatives.
