David Charles Rodgers III, age 76, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on December 4, 2023.
He was born on March 26, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. David was a beloved husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
David had a passion for restoring classic cars and boats. He was a talented entrepreneur with vast knowledge. He also had many other interests including a love for adventure, classic cars, motorcycles, and the great outdoors. His sense of humor was unlike any other. He was a master carpenter and an amazing teacher that valued a good work ethic that was handed down to his daughters.
David proudly served in the Navy from June 8,1967 until January 18,1971. He served as a radio operator and was decorated with a National Defense Service Metal before he was honorably discharged. David had a deep respect for his country and his fellow servicemen and loved sharing stories of his time on the ship.
In addition to his military service and career, David obtained an Architectural Degree. His dedication and expertise were evident in all aspects of his life.
David is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Rodgers (McKinney), his daughters and son-in-law, Krishna Fichter (Pete Fichter), Colleen Carter, and Crystal Chatterton, his brothers, Dwight Rodgers (Kathryn) and Dale Rodgers (Nancy), his cousin, David Beegle (Jeanette), as well as his 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Charles Rodgers Jr, his mother, Beulah Rodgers (Beers), Nephew, Daniel Rodgers, and numerous other family members.
The family will be honoring David with a private service at a later date.
