Andy Hoyt Blalock

Andy Hoyt Blalock, age 57, of Colbert, GA, died Monday, December 11, 2023, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens. Mr. Blalock was born in Athens to Willard D. “Buzzie” Blalock and the late, Patsy Dixon Blalock.

A 1984 graduate of Cedar Shoals High School, Mr. Blalock worked for the ABB Corporation for more than 30 years. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church and a devoted Florida Gators fan.

He is survived by his father, Willard D. “Buzzie” Blalock of Commerce; sister LeAnne Blalock DeFrancesco (Robert) of Alexandria, Va; son Andrew Tyler Blalock (Braylee) of Carlton, Ga; granddaughters Josie and Emmy Blalock; niece Emma DeFrancesco and nephew Robby DeFrancesco; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss his humor, generosity and heart of gold.

The family will receive friends at Little Ward Funeral Home in Commerce, Ga., on Thursday, December 14, from 6-8 p.m.  Funeral service will be held Friday, December 15 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Don Blalock, Rev. Chris Burns, and Rev. Terry James officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Berea Baptist Church.
