Randall Smith, age 61, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. He was born in Gainesville on February 28, 1962, to the late Ernest Wayne Smith and the late Montine Cagle Smith.
Randall was a devoted family man and a diligent worker, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate to know him. A native of Gainesville, he worked tirelessly as a plumber at Environmental Management Services, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Randall found his greatest joy in the embrace of his family. A loving husband and father, he shared 30 years of love and devotion with his best friend, Debra Long Smith. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their children. Randall's commitment to family extended to his role as a deacon and active member of The First Congregational Holiness Church of Gainesville. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he cherished the fellowship of his church family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Chris Pinion of Gainesville, Mathew (Kecia) Smith of Dawsonville, and John (Elissa) Smith of Santa Rosa, Florida; siblings: Phillip (Susan) Smith, Tommy Smith, and Susan Smith; grandchildren Taylor Pinion, Carter Pinion, Jackson Smith, Landon Burt, Luke Smith, Peyton Burt, Tripp Smith, Kalyn Burt, Maris Smith, and Calder Smith.
In addition to his parents, Randall is preceded in death by his son, Michael Pinion, and a brother, Johnny Smith.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Phagan will officiate, and interment will follow in the cemetery of Hopewell Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
