Adolf Daniel “A.D.” Janzen, age 92, of Newton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Mr. Janzen was born on May 15, 1931, in Medford, Oklahoma, to the late David Henry Janzen and Eva Janzen. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He later retired as a U.S. Army Missile Engineer. A.D. was a member of Immauel Baptist Church, in Newton, Kansas, a former member of Cleveland First Baptist Church, the local Gideon Camp, and American Legion Post 16 in White County. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School. In addition to his parents, Mr. Janzen was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Janzen; and 8 siblings.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Janzen; daughter and son-in-law, Beth Janzen Maynard (James); granddaughter, Ashley Gabor; great-grandson, Jake Gabor; nephew, Lewis Smith; sister, Elsie Jackson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Cleveland First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
