Robbie Jo "Edge" Standridge

Robbie Jo (Edge) Standridge, age 96, of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away on December 1, 2023.

Ms. Standridge was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Palmer and Joe P Edge; sister, Georgia Louise Adams; daughter, Patricia Ann (Raymond) Harkins.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Brooks of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Angela (Joey) Nicholson of Gainesville, GA; five grandchildren, Barbara Hicks of Jefferson, GA; Tim (Cindy) Harkins of Maysville, GA; Amanda Franklin of Maysville, GA; Brandon Standridge of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Derek (Hunter) Standridge of Ball Ground, GA; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-
great-grandchildren; niece Janice (Winston) Brooks, and numerous beloved cousins. She was a
wonderful Mother, friend and her grandchildren would say she was the greatest grandmother there ever was.

She was born on August 10, 1927, in Cleveland, GA. Throughout her life, Ms. Standridge worked in many industries. Her most rewarding work was with Volunteers In Service to America, VISTA, where she helped serve the poor, hungry, battered women, elderly and homeless. She received recognition and commendations at most every employment throughout her career, especially for courtesy and hard
work.

She enjoyed traveling, all types of crafts and handwork, bowling, sports, cooking, playing games, and visiting with friends and loved ones. She was an avid, life-long Braves fan.

She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1946 and some of her fondest memories were of her close bond with her classmates and playing on the basketball team. The Class of ’46 held yearly reunions until recently. Ms. Standridge often used stories of her school years and friends and experiences to teach her family the value and importance of true friendship.

Her joy of life and outgoing, adventurous spirit helped her make many friends everywhere she went. Ms. Standridge will be truly missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Barrett’s Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow in the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery located in Cleveland, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at 11am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
