Joel Carson Watkins, Jr.

Mr. Joel Carson Watkins, Jr., age 61 of Mize Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his residence.

A son of the late Joel Carson Watkins, Sr. and Mary Nell Keller Watkins, he was born October 12, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia having lived in Stephens County most of his life.  He was employed as a brick mason and loved woodworking and building furniture.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Lisa Garrett Watkins; daughters, Tammy Watkins and Jennifer Watkins of Franklin County, Georgia and Brook Keller and Stephanie Clark both of Toccoa; sons, Zackery Watkins, Carson Watkins and Daniel Shedd all of Toccoa; six grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Watkins, Marvin Roach and Christopher Simmons all of Toccoa and Sammy Watkins of Hartwell; a number of nieces an nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated.  The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
