Blonnie Mae Wimpy

Mrs. Blonnie Mae Wimpy, age 94, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born to the late Joe Head and Ellen Butler Head on November 20, 1929.  In addition to her parents, Blonnie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of seventy-four years, R.F. Wimpy, and her brothers, Loye Head and Broton Head.

A dedicated member of Concord Baptist Church, Blonnie's life was rooted in faith, love, and service. She found fulfillment in her passion for sewing and devoted herself to caring for her beloved husband, R.F., and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Neu of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Candace and Scott Gooch of Dahlonega and Abi Wiegand of Gainesville; great-grandchildren Nick and Kelly Gooch, Gracie Gooch, Ava Grace Wiegand, and Fischer Wiegand; great-great-grandchildren Maverick Gooch and Jaxon Gooch; siblings, Mary Lou (Jerry) Trammell, Margie (David) Jobson, and Minnie Lou Head; niece Sharon Head and nephews Floyd Wimpy and Allen Head, as well as other nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Funeral services to celebrate Blonnie's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Concord Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Kris Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, where she will rest alongside her husband.  The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
