Thomas G. "Tommy" Rider

Thomas G. “Tommy” Rider, 72, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Born October 11, 1951 to the late O. C. “Red” and Geraldine Rider, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  For many years Tommy worked as a cook at the Dawsonville Pool Room.  He was a avid football and baseball fan.  A member of Liberty Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra F. Rider, and brother, Morris “Chick” Rider.

Surviving are his sister and brother in law, Rose Mary and Harold Bottoms, Cumming; brother, Hank Rider, Dahlonega; sister in law, Patsy Rider, Dahlonega; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Harold Bottoms and Rev. Jason Hamby will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 7 at the funeral home.
