Steve Alexander Smith

Mr. Steve Alexander Smith, 70, of Gillsville, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Jimmy and Mrs. Linda Manders will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on November 28, 1953 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Alexander Smith, Jr. and the late Jeanette Smallwood Smith.  He had lived in Hall County for the past 50 years. He attended and was a member of Grace and Truth Revival Center in Dawsonville. He loved playing the Guitar and Bass in church. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked in many different jobs throughout the years and retired, after 18 years, from the Hall County School System where he worked in the Maintenance department. He had a very strong passion to buy, sell and trade throughout the years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Vicky and Frank Lively.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ann Green Smith of Gillsville; daughter and son in law, Laura and Danny Kirby of Statesville, NC; daughter, Sherry Smith of Asheville, NC; sister and brother in law, Julie and Randy Whisnant of Clermont and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other loving relatives.
