James Donald Stewart

Mr. James Donald Stewart, age 94, of Buford, GA passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wynelle Brogdon Stewart; parents, W.T. and Dora Stewart; sisters, Mary Stewart D”Anna, Ruth Stewart Brogdon; brothers-in-law, Royce Brogdon, Tony D’Anna, Frankie Brogdon; Brother and Sister-in-law, Byron and Polly Stewart.  He is survived by his son, Keith (Melissa) Stewart of Buford, GA; daughter, Tracey (Tim) Burden of Monroe, GA; grandson, David Stewart of Buford, GA; special great-niece, Julie (Kyle) Conner of Buford, GA; great-great nephew, Alex Conner; great-great niece, Mollie Conner; sister-in-law, Kitty Brogdon Dodd of Boling Green, KY.  Mr. Stewart was born February 21, 1929 in Buford, GA.  He was a 1946 graduate of Buford High School.  Mr. Stewart was owner of Buford Bridle and Halter Leather Company in Buford for over 56 years.  He was a long-time member of Buford First Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon and youth Sunday School teacher.  He also served on the Communion Staff, Baptism Committee, and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Buford, GA.  He was an avid Georgia Football fan and loved the Buford Wolves. Mr. Stewart was a former football player under Coach Tom Riden, and also played baseball for Buford High School. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Pruitt officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
