Eleanor Louise Dovel

Mrs. Eleanor Louise Dovel, 93, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Born on February 13, 1930 in Goshen, IN, she was a daughter to the late Porter and Janice Redmen Metzger. She was a Press operator for Taylor Products where she retired. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dovel was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Dovel; son, Timothy Dipert; sisters, Mary Lamphier, Donna Phillips; brothers, Daniel Metzger, Kenneth Porter, John Chupp, Jay Chupp, Bobby Chupp, Joe Chupp, Jr and grandson, Teyco Dovel.

Mrs. Dovel is survived by her son, Michael Dovel of Gainesville; daughters and son in law, Cindy and Steve Vaitonis of N. Chicago, IL; son and daughter in law, Dennis and Barbara Dovel of N. Chicago, IL; brother, Rex Chupp of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Kris and Andy Hartman, Kim and Joe Miller, Stephanie Vaitonis, Jamie Dovel, Kelly Dovel, Michael Dovel, Nicholas Dovel, Dean Dipent; 8 great grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives.
