John Ezra Elrod

John Ezra Elrod, age 59, of Cleveland, GA passed away on November 19, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, A. A. “Mutt” and Florine Fraser Elrod; sister, Florence Elrod Garrett.  Mr. Elrod is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Deborah Holland Elrod of Cleveland; sons, Steve (Jessica) Eury of Oakwood, GA, John Elrod II of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Sara Camp, Steven Eury, Nate Eury, Gracelyn Brooks; sisters, Martha (Lyle) Dysinger of Toccoa, GA, Gail (Gene) Robinson of Commerce, GA, Della McKinney of Commerce, Beulah Elrod of Commerce, Frances Weinand of Franklin, NC, Flonnie Thomas of Flowery Branch, GA; brother Henry “Buddy” Elrod of Commerce; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born on December 2, 1963 in Buford, GA.  Mr. Elrod received his education at Johnson High School.  He was a certified auto mechanic with Lester Auto Service in Gainesville, GA.  Mr. Elrod was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and model cars.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis West and Rev. Jacob Hulsey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery located in Buford.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
