Carolyn Jones Burel

Carolyn Jones Burel, 78, of Gainesville went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2023.

Born October 13, 1945 in Lumpkin County to the late Roy and Katie Lee Jones, she lived many years in Dawson County before moving to Gainesville.  Carolyn was a loving, supportive and dedicated wife, mother, Nanny, Nan, Sissy, aunt and friend.  She loved spending time with her girls and her family and traveling.  She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ her whole life.  Carolyn was also preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Jones; brother, Clifton Jones; father in law, Robert H. Burel; and brother in law, Winfred Talley.

Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Robert Burel, Gainesville; daughter, Kristie Robertson Holton, Roswell; granddaughters, Emme Shealey, Brooklyn Shealey; sister, Pam Talley, Cumming; mother in law, Sue Burel, Bethlehem; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tom Ham will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
