George Daniel Pendley

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. George Dariel Pendley, age 74, of Jefferson, who passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. Mr. Pendley was born in Buford, Georgia, a son to the late Walter Louis Pendley and the late Barbara Nan Stone Pendley. Mr. Pendley graduated from Buford High School in 1967 and then graduated from Lanier Technical College. He retired from Scientific Atlanta after 22 years of service an later worked at Anixter in Suwanee, Georgia. Mr. Pendley was a member of the American Legion and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Gunners Mate, aboard the USS Grant County (LST1174). In addition to his parents, Mr. Pendley was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Shane Pendley.

Survivors include his son Scott Pendley and his wife Christy of Jefferson; grandchildren, Brandon Pendley, Victoria Pendley, Cheyenne Pendley and Zoe Pendley all of Jefferson; sister, Margie Stone and her husband Moose of Jefferson; brothers, Johnny Pendley of Jefferson and Carlton Pendley and his wife Teri of North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A visitation will be held on will be held on Monday, October 13, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home. The cremains will be placed in a Niche Wall at Evans Memory Gardens in Jefferson immediately following the visitation.
