Eloise Frey Hughes

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Eloise Frey Hughes, known to family and friends as “Weezie”, age 91, of Dawsonville, Georgia who entered rest Thursday November 2, 2023. Mrs. Hughes was born in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Fred Lacey Frey and the late Edith Marguerite Ray Frey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Matthews and two brothers, Fred Lacey Frey Jr., and Jerry Lyon Frey.

Mrs. Hughes retired as a secretary with Chicago Pneumatic Tool and later in life she worked at Concerts in the Country, Cumming, Georgia. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cumming, GA, loved music but most of all loved her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Chalmers (Robert) of Jefferson, GA. Son, James Hughes of Dawsonville, GA. Three grandchildren, Billie Waits (Jackie) of Melbourne, FL, Robin Ring (Nathan) of Auburn, GA, and Michael Hughes. Three great grandchildren, Brenden Waits, Camden Thompson and Kiersten Waits.

Celebration of life services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 11, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nick Vipperman officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM in time of service at Evans Funeral Home.
