Jerome Dawson was born on February 2, 1962 in Buffalo, New York to the late Mr. and Mrs. Malcomb and (Gladys) Dawson Sr. After a long fight with Cancer, he departed this life on October 26, 2023. Jerome received his education from the Buffalo Public Schools and graduated from Sweet Home High School. Jerome was talented in various areas of his life. He loved basketball, cutting hair and laughing. Earlier in his life, Jerome worked alongside his brother Malcom Jr. with a host of other workers to remove Asbestos. Jerome begin to develop a love for barbering so much that he completed barber school and received his Barber License. He worked in various shops in the Atlanta, Ga area including the Kings and Queens Barbershop for several years. Jerome also had the opportunity to train sheltered dogs to be placed in homes in Atlanta, Ga. He was known for his charismatic personality, not wanting a hair out of place and making others laugh. He will be greatly missed. We find comfort in knowing that nearing the end of Jerome’s journey he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Jerome is preceded in death by his parents Malcomb and Gladys Dawson, brother Eddie Lee Sr., and nephew, Eddie Lee Jr. Jerome leaves to cherish his daughter, Joyce (Leroy) Brown of Savannah, GA, twin sons, Armani and Alex Ambers of Atlanta, GA, siblings - Malcolm Dawson Jr. of Buffalo, NY, Debra Dawson of Buffalo, NY and the love of his life and partner LaPaysha Teasley of Winder, GA, Two nieces, Jennifer (James) Rice of West Virginia, and Crystal Taylor of Buffalo, New York. Nephews, Jermaine Lewis of Buffalo, NY, Anthony Dawson of Buffalo, NY, Adrian Dawson of Atlanta, GA, and Daryl Morrison of Buffalo, NY. Two dear cousins Gloria (Jeff) Walker and Diane Collier of Buffalo, NY. A host of extended family and friends that will keep his memory alive!
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at White Oak Springs Baptist Church, Winder, GA at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Saturday at White Oak Springs Baptist Church between the hours of 1:00 PM-3:00PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.ome
