Sarah Frances (Otting) Scott

Mrs. Sarah Frances (Otting) Scott, 74, of Lula, formerly of the Flowery Branch Community, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 7, 1949 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Fannie Mae McGuire Smith.

Sarah’s passion in life was always making people look and feel their best. She worked as a Beautician for over 50 years in Gainesville, GA. Sarah was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She loved traveling and finding new adventures. From bungee jumping to zip lining, she was always looking for what’s next.

Sarah had a servant’s heart. She was always ready to go help whoever was in need at the first phone call. Mrs. Scott was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Ernest and Fannie Mae Smith, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Scott; daughter, Debbie Rogers and brothers, Junior Smith and Bobbie Smith.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her son and daughter in law, Timothy and Vickie Otting of Lula; son, Michael Otting of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan, Kaitlin, Brenna, Matthew, Alex, Kaden; great-grandchildren, Graceyn, Lucas, Sarah, Kannon; sister, Sue Truelove; brother, Jimmy Smith; close friends, Kristy and Kim; fur baby, Maggie and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
