Mr. Eric R. Hampel, age 54, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born in Fort Hood, Texas, on February 14, 1969 to the late William O. Hampel and the late Edith Ray Hampel as a 6 month premature baby. When he passed away, he left this world as a true Warrior for God
Eric was a devoted born-again Christian whose unwavering love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, defined the very essence of his existence. Eric's heart found its true purpose when he embraced the Christian faith and was reborn in the love of Jesus Christ. To him, his salvation was the most precious and vital possession, a beacon of light guiding him through life's journey. Eric wanted to see everyone accept salvation and loved sharing the incredible message of God's amazing grace, believing that the gift of salvation was meant for all.
Eric's love for his church family at Chestatee Worship Center was boundless, and his presence within the congregation was a testament to his profound commitment. He thought of his church community as an extension of his own family, cherishing the fellowship, support, and spiritual nourishment he received there. Eric's enthusiasm for worship and service was infectious, and he tirelessly encouraged others to join him on the path to salvation and spiritual growth.
Eric's days were filled with gratitude, and every morning was an opportunity for him to express his heartfelt thanks to God for the countless blessings in his life. His unwavering faith and joy in the Lord was evident to all who knew him, serving as a constant reminder of the transformative power of faith and the boundless love that Jesus offers to all who seek Him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Brenda Hampel.
He is survived by his best friend, a very special dog, “Copper”; brothers and sisters Bill Hampel (Mary Ann Pritchett) of Carnesville, Paul (Tammy) Hampel of Dahlonega, Alan (Lisa) Hampel of Dahlonega, Michelle Hampel of Dahlonega, Troy (Karen) Hampel of Gillsville, and John Ragland of Dahlonega; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.
It was Eric’s wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM on November 4, 2023, at Chestatee Worship Center, 2057 Dawson Forest Road East, Dawsonville, Georgia.
