Rodger Stephens passed away recently while visiting family in Panama City Beach after courageously fighting to recover from several heart surgeries.
Rodger was born in Hope Mills, North Carolina on March 15, 1951. His youth was spent as a resident of Galveston, Texas and Panama City, Florida. He attended Florida State University. Rodger was a Certified
Microsoft Technician and held many upper management positions in the IT industry.
He and his wife of 10 years, Nancy, resided in the Buford area of Gwinnett County. Rodger and Nancy’s favorite pastimes were hiking, discovering parks and walking their dog, Bear. Rodger relished music in all its forms and had a lifelong goal of composing music. Rodger maintained a joyful nature and lived a successful life of kindness and generosity.
Rodger was predeceased by his parents Cooper and Mary Stephens of Panama City, Florida. Rodger is survived by his wife, Nancy, his sister Rita, his sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Jimmy, his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Andrea, his son Jason, his stepdaughter Katlynn, his stepson, Leonid, his father-in-law and mother in-law Mark and Geri, and many loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 28, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia. Flowers are not expected; however, we are requesting donations to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
