Donald Denson Tipton

Mr. Donald Denson Tipton, age 79, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Mr. Tipton was born in Hall County to the late Sylvia Pink Tipton and Moena McDaniel Tipton.  He was a Road Crew Supervisor for the Georgia Department of Corrections. Donald was preceded in death by his brothers: Dean Tipton, Dennis Tipton both from Gainesville, Georgia and Bill Tipton from Clewiston, Florida.   

Survivors include life partner, Phyllis Henson; daughters, Robin Collinson, Tammy Carlyle, and Elizabeth Tipton; siblings, William Destin Tipton, Mary Lou Ramson, Dorothy Taylor, Dora Lee Williamson, Flora Dee Lee, Ora Bea Esquivel, Ira Vea Copeland and Bud Tipton; granddaughters, Jessica Miller, Erika Stephens, Savanna Collinson, Josephine Collinson, and Destiny Collinson; grandsons, Tyler Gilstrap, Michael David Collinson, Jr., Victor Collinson, and Asa Edward Pettis; great grandchildren, Charlotte Miller, Leilah Brown and Adley Stephens; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Kevin Woody will officiate.  Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2023, and again on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
