Remmar Terry Austin

Mr. Remmar Terry Austin, 73, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Born on April 30, 1950 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Clarence Ward and Fannie Mae O’Kelley Austin.

Mr. Austin was retired from the Gainesville Water Department where he was the crew chief. Mr. Austin was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Over the years he served as a mentor to numerous employees at the City of Gainesville.

Mr. Austin is survived by his daughter and son in law, Tena and Jeff Blakey of Washington, GA; son and daughter in law, Kirk and Erin Austin of Flowery Branch, Gerald “Fat Boy” and Janet Simmons of Cleveland; brother and sister in law, Mike and Gloria Austin of Lula; sisters and brothers in law, Deloria and Claude Roach of Gainesville, Lynda and Bill Collier of Lady Lakes, FL; grandchildren, Isabelle “Izzy” Blakey, Maddie Austin, Braxton Blakey, Ashlyn Rene Seeley, Zyon Joyce Pridgen and a number of other loving relatives.
