Mrs. Ola Mae Evans, 91, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.
The visitation of friends and family will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, October 16, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Born on May 5, 1932 in Hull, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Leila Bailey. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, she was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She also cared for many foster children for over 25 years. Mrs. Evans was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and devout Christian who loved Christ from a very young age.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Thomas, Essie Mitchell, James Bailey, David Bailey, J.W. Bailey and Ozzie Bailey.
Left to cherish precious memories are her husband of 71 years, Robert Evans of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Mary and Tim Watson, Flora Dell and Henry Thompson, Rhonda Evans all of Gainesville, Thea “Lisa” and Ernest Moore of Flowery Branch; sons, James Jones, David “Jerry” Jones, Desmond Evans all of Gainesville; granddaughters, Natasha Pusha, Consuela “Nikki” Oliver (Chris) all of Flowery Branch; grandson, Quincy (Mandi) Hudson of Hoschton; granddaughters, Jamesha (Kevin) Clarke of Covington, Kendra Chunn of Buford; grandson, Joshua (Kela) Millsap of Buford; granddaughters, Brittany (Kevin) Jones of Sugar Hill, Nadia Iesha Millsap of Gainesville; sisters in law, Betty Jo Bailey , Bonnie Bailey and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
