Herbert Hale Carey, Sr.

Herbert Hale Carey, Sr., age 81 of Commerce, GA passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023.

Born on Nov. 30, 1941 in Royston, GA, Mr. Carey was the son of the late Carval Asbury Cary and Annie Ruth Maddox Carey Chapman. He was a farmer and was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Isbell.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Hart Carey of the home; daughters, Regina Ginn, Mandy Parr; sons, Herbert Carey, Jr. and Jeffrey Carey; sisters, Ann Monnier, Marie Chapman, Sandra Stephenson; brothers, Anthony Cary, Ronald Carey, David Chapman; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 7 pm Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian David and Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating. A cremation will follow. The family will receive friends Saturday 6 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
