Betty J. Roper

Betty J. Roper, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at her residence.

Born May 19, 1944 in Lumpkin County to the late Yancy and Maggie Lawrance, she lived 20 years in Pickens County but lived most of her life in Lumpkin County.  Betty retired from Z F Industries following over 30 years of service.  She enjoyed cats, going to Wal-Mart, and vacations in Mexico Beach with her daughter.  A member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Porter, Dixie McMahan, and brother, Marvin Lawrance.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Frank O’Neill, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Daniel Butler, Jennifer O’Neill; and a sister, Vera Lawrance.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Philip Ransom will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 until 8 and Tuesday from 12 noon until 2 at the funeral home.
