Mrs. Othell Shiflet Beasley, aged 89, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2023.
Mrs. Beasley was born in Tifton, Georgia, on February 13, 1934, to the late John Allen and Emma Mae Moye Shifflet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lowell Benson Beasley Sr., daughter Bobbie Jean Beasley, son Lowell Benson Beasley Jr, and brother Allen R. Shiflett.
At the tender age of 12, Othell gave her life to Christ, nurturing a deep and abiding faith that guided her throughout her lifetime. Her dedication to her family was the pinnacle of her life, and she considered raising her wonderful family her most cherished achievement.
On December 23, 1954, she joined her life in a beautiful union with Lowell Benson Beasley Sr. Their love and commitment to each other served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Mrs. Beasley dedicated 30 years of her life as a skilled sewing machine operator at Kinder Mfg., showcasing her talents and dedication. Before her tenure at Kinder Mfg., she worked diligently for 6 ½ years at Greyhound Bus Lines, exemplifying her strong work ethic.
She held a deep appreciation for the Lumpkin County Meals on Wheels and the kindness and service they provided to the community. Mrs. Beasley was a faithful and active member of Second Baptist Church in Warner Robbins, where she found comfort, community, and solace in her faith.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Satilla and Jimmy Grizzle, Dahlonega; sister Linda Joanne Pilgrim (Butch), Warner Robbins; grandson Kevin Ladewig (Michelle), Gainesville; great grandchildren Jake and Emma Ladewig; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lumpkin County Meals on Wheels or Hospice in loving memory of Mrs. Othell Shiflet Beasley.
