Ms. Satterfield passed away on October 7, 2023. Ms. Satterfield was a caring and compassionate mother of two sons and a loving spouse to her late Husband, Gurley of over 60 years. Ms. Satterfield served as a homemaker for most of her life and was an incredible example to her children and grandchildren in her role as a Christian, wife, and mother. She loved serving her community and was a faithful member of New Bridge Baptist Church where she loved her church family and friends in Christ. Ms. Satterfield loved her family and frequently enjoyed preparing meals for her children and grandchildren and enjoying time and fellowship outdoors. She also enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and preparing canned and stored goods from an annual garden that she and Gurley prepared. Ms. Satterfield loved to visit St. Simons Island with her family and embodied a high level of care for friends and family who she routinely expressed that sentiment to. Ms. Satterfield was the perfect example of a strong Christian woman and will forever serve as that model for her children and grandchildren.

Idell was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband Gurley Satterfield, her parents Emory and Belle Cain, brothers and sisters, TJ (Dora) Cain, Hassie (Gary) Bishop, Lucille (Bob) Andrews, Dennis (Callie Mae) Cain, and brother-in-law, Royce Lee.

She is survived by her two sons, Alan (Susan) and Ronnie (Melanie) Satterfield; three grandchildren, Matt (Nicole), Drew, and Emily Satterfield; brother, Johnny (Vivian) Cain and sister, Frankie Lee.

Flowers are appreciated, however, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Bridge Baptist Church or to Inpatient Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
