Deborah Nester Jenkins

Deborah Nester Jenkins was born in Birmingham, AL, on July 12, 1951, and died in Suwanee, GA on September 30, 2023. She taught and inspired countless young musicians during her career as a middle school band teacher at Lawrenceville Middle School and Creekland Middle School. When she wasn’t on the podium, she enjoyed hanging out with her dogs, drinking coffee, and spending time with her friends. She loved adventure, and her travels took her to all corners of the world, including Australia, Egypt, and the Galapagos Islands. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and cherished the time she spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Frank Nester, and her brother, Dennis Nester. She is survived by her son, Frank Jenkins, and his wife, Anna. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, at Flanigan’s Funeral Home and Crematory, 4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Flanigan’s Funeral Home.
