John C. Hussey

John C. Hussey, age 83 of Flowery Branch, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Memorial Park South Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

He was born in Cleveland Ohio in May 1940 to John and Margaret Hussey.  He graduated from St. Edwards High School in 1958. In June 1960, he married a lovely Irish lass, Sarah Stafford, and was blessed with 5 rambunctious children.  He was an incredibly hard working young dad doing whatever it took to raise his family including working two jobs and going to school at night. In 1972, he took a job as a construction superintendent and moved his young family to Norcross, GA.  He proudly worked with Tom McCord Construction for over 35 years, building everything from big churches, gas stations, banks to medical centers. He had an intense love for his wife, children and all of his extended family. John and Sarah had big hearts and an open door, welcoming into their home extra families and children along the way.  They accepted everyone as they are. He was a loving and giving man of faith. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sarah Stafford Hussey, his parents and his granddaughter Catherine Trimboli.  John will continue to be missed by his surviving family, James & Kimberly Hussey of Flowery Branch, GA; Michael & Susan Hussey of Lawrenceville, GA; John K. Hussey of Flowery Branch; Maureen Davis of Flowery Branch; Patricia & William Trimboli of Alpharetta as well as 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
