Mr. Henry Cook, age 69 of E. Franklin Street, Toccoa passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at his residence.
A son of Fannie Cook and the late James Gray, he was born June 15, 1954 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. In his younger years, he lived in Athens, Georgia but has lived the last 26 years in Toccoa.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, stationed in Germany. He was formerly employed with the Toccoa Soup Kitchen as a cook. He enjoyed watching Clemson and Auburn football. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Lenois Cook, Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Fannie Cook of Athens, Georgia; son, Keithdrick Cook of Hawaii; daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Cook and Felicia and Freddie Williams both of Athens, Georgia and Barbara Cook of Toccoa;; grandchildren, Martaisa Manago, Derrick Lumpkin, Jaida Cook, Jazlynn Cook, Jordan Cook, Jevon Cook, Keithdrick Cook, Jr. and Jayden Williams; sister, Hattie Muckle of Statham, Georgia; companion, Angela Baker of Toccoa; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 1 o’clock p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery, 825 Winterville Road, Athens, Georgia with The Reverend Obie Bradford officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the East Lawn Cemetery, Athens, Georgia with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Henry Cook.
