Billy Ray Major

Billy Ray Major, 75 of Gainesville died Thursday September 21, 2023, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Major was the son of the late Lloyd "Tee" Major and Mae Haynes Major. Mr. Major was retired from Scott Gibbs Grading and Hauling and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Laura Major, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joel Balderas. Bill had a number of nieces and nephews he loved so much, and special cousins, Lee and Janie Major.

Mr. Major is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd "Tee" Major, mother, Mae Haynes Major, brothers, Jerry Major and John Major, sisters, Sally Bruce and Sarah Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Franklin Grant will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday September 25 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
