Evelyn Josephine Lampert

Obituary Date: Tuesday, September 19, 2023

Our sweet Evelyn Josephine Lampert was born asleep on September 19, 2023. She lived 33 weeks in mommy’s belly, surrounded with so much love and joy. She was diagnosed with anencephaly early in the pregnancy, which is a fatal condition where the top of her skull never developed. Even though we knew her time on earth would be short, we also knew that our love for her would live forever and that her life had purpose.

As her story traveled, we learned that hundreds of people were praying for her, most of whom her family had never met. People have shared stories of their personal transformations toward more thoughtfulness, kindness and unconditional love after learning about our sweet girl.

Evelyn Josephine was a strong, spunky, loving, happy, beautiful and incredibly special daughter. Based on her spirited reactions, we know she enjoyed car rides, swimming in the ocean, food from El Sombrero, desserts and mornings with her mama. She was also perhaps the only person in the world who liked her father’s flat, off-key singing. Her favorite song was the alphabet.

Although we miss her terribly, we know she is in the care of her great grandmas Evelyn Griffin Lampert and Lillie Josephine Patterson, along with her great grandfather Edward Lampert, great grandmother Patricia “Grandma Pitty Pat” Stuart, uncle Eric Patterson-Kendall and so many other loved ones in heaven. One day we will be reunited as a family—healthy, whole and together forever.

Her surviving relatives include her parents, Kayla and Matthew Lampert; grandparents Charles and Lisa Kendall; grandparents Kenneth and Cathy Lampert; Aunt Jodi, Uncle Jonathan and cousins Ellie and Haddie Burnett; Aunt Leah, Uncle Jordan, cousins Weston, Logan and Phoenix Moody, and cousin Gavin Hilley.

The family welcomes the public for a visitation at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Memorial Park Main in Gainesville, Georgia, with a celebration of life to follow graveside at 3 p.m.  The service will be officiated by her uncle, Pastor Jonathan Burnett, and her granddaddy, Deacon Kenneth Lampert. Colorful dress is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, please find a special way to spread kindness to those you know who need to feel love.
