Sandra Denise "Sandy" Whitsel Cooke

Mrs. Sandra Denise “Sandy” Whitsel Cooke, age 57, of Commerce, GA died Monday, September 18, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Cooke was born in Commerce to the late Thomas Lee and Sara Tench Whitsel.  She was a member of Rogers Baptist Church and a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Thoms “Sam” Cooke.

Mrs. Cooke is survived by her son, James Whitsel (Sarah) of Commerce; and brother, Mike Whitsel (Linda) of Sedalia, MO; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 20 at Rogers Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Bray and Rev. Danny Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
