Elizabeth C. "Cricket" Strickland, 88 of Gainesville died Friday September 15, 2023, at her residence.
Born in Lumpkin County, Mrs. Strickland had lived in Hall County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Louise Reeves Lemley. Mrs. Strickland worked for Dr. Robert C. Grant for a number of years where she retired as the office manager. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her sons, John K. Strickland and Mitchell C. Strickland, both of Gainesville, sister, Mae Powell, Dawsonville, Allison and Lindsey Grant, who Mrs. Strickland loved as if they were her own grandchildren, and lovingly referred to her as "Nanny". A number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Mrs. Strickland is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Reda K. House, and son, James W. "Jimmy" Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. James Kanaday will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
