James Dean Raper, age 62, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Raper and Patricia Henry; sisters, Vickie Swift and Lisa Morgan. Mr. Raper is survived by his Daughter, Brittney Johnson of Sugar Hill, GA; brother, Steven (Lisa) Laney of Madisonville, TN; grandson Colton Dean Brown; former wife of 26 years, Jennifer Raper of Sugar Hill, GA; brothers-in-law, Brian (Bobbie) Lancaster, Jeff Lancaster, and Chris (Samantha) Lancaster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Raper was born June 29, 1961 in Maryville, TN. He was a graduate of Central Gwinnett High School. Mr. Raper was an Auto Mechanic for Hardy Chevrolet in Gainesville, GA for 20 years. He also was a handyman for a number of years and also worked for Lancaster Plumbing. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sugar Hill Cemetery, Sugar Hill, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 20, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
