Mary Louise Tomlin

Mary Louise Tomlin, age 82 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023.

Mrs. Tomlin was born September 2, 1941 to the late Garnett E. Smith Jr. and Mazie Lee Dockery Smith. Louise was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and loved cooking for her family, she made one of the best banana puddings in the world. Louise retired from NOK after 13 years. She went above and beyond for her family. Louise was a babysitter for the neighborhood children, so that their parents could work. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Tomlin; daughter, Pamela Irvin; sons, Stevie F. Tomlin and Stacy Tomlin; and brothers, Jerry Lamar Smith, Bobby Lee Smith, Eddie Lee Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Herbert; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Randy Irvin; brother and sister-in-law, Edward “Ed” and Lou Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Smith and Jim Lockaby; sister, Barbara Jean Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Chapell, Ranzie Irvin, Kent Davis and Dustin Tomlin; 8 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Luke, Alexis, McKenna, Coraly, Spencer, Blake & Lakoda.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, September 18, 2023 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. W.A. Jenkins, the Rev. Mike Irvin and the Rev. Mike Chapell will officiate. Interment will follow at New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
