Horace F. Maddox went home to the Lord on Wednesday morning on September 13, 2023. Horace was born in Braselton, GA on December 9, 1942 to Willonell and William J. Maddox. Honorary pall bearers include Royal Ambassadors under his mentorship and leadership from 1960 to 2013. For all those who knew Horace, we wished that he could have waited another moment before he went home so that we could have felt the warmness, kindness and generosity that he brought into the world for just a moment longer. Horace's presence was an assurance, and his faith strengthened us. We felt the warmness of his love and the connection of his friendship. His dedication meant that he was willing to take on large and small jobs. He took on those jobs for decades always giving his best. The investments that he made in others were instrumental in developing leaders who have impacted our world. He did those things that no one had ever thought of before. He did those things that no one believed could be done. He did all of those things for one primary reason. He loved Jesus, and he wanted others to love Him too. His absence in our lives is only filled by knowing that his last exhale in this imperfect world was followed by the sweetest inhale in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His eyes are seeing the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The words whispered to him are true. "We will see you when we get home."
