Ricky Raymond Day

Ricky Raymond Day, age 62, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Mary Lou Day; and seven siblings. Mr. Day is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Gena Day of Buford GA; children, Michael Day of Buford, Raymond (Emma) Day of Winder, GA, Anna Day of Buford; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Kathleen Jackson, Buford; and numerus nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was born on July 9, 1961 in Buford.   Ricky was an extremely caring and beyond loving Husband, Father, and Friend. He absolutely loved fishing, going to church, taking a trip to the Smoky Mountains, taking the grandkids on gator rides to the berry patch and to get ice cream. He always put family above all. Ricky was a self-employed hard worker in masonry construction. He owned his individual company, ‘Day’s Sewer and Storm Masonry’. Ricky was very selfless, he gave to all in need. There was never second guessing when it came to helping others, even when it came to opening up his home to others.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 3:00 at People’s Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA with Rev. Matthew Calvert officiating.  Interment will follow in the People’s Baptist Church Cemetery in Flowery Branch.  Mr. Day will Lie in State at the People’s Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to his service.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Flanigan Funeral Home in memory of Ricky Raymond Day to help the family with funeral expenses.
