Thomas John Kapise Senior

Thomas John Kapise, Sr., age 80, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Mr. Kapise was born on May 19, 1943, in Hanover, New Hampshire, to the late Philip and Hazel Higgins Kapise. Tom served with honor in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966 and worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 2004.  Prior to working for the postal service, he worked with Purolator Courier.  He and his wife, Alice, opened the shop Kapise Krafts, where they made arts and crafts together.  Tom also boiled peanuts and made pork rinds.  In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Franklin Kapise; sons, Danny Kapise and Barry Kapise; brother, Peter Kapise.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Kapise Tomlin; son, Thomas John Kapise, Jr.; step-daughter, Tammy Kapise Thomas; granddaughters, Lexi Tomlin and Aly Tomlin; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Kapise (Barbara) and Robert Kapise (Eleanor); sisters, Carol Marcou and Shelia Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  Mr. Brian Alexander will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
